A Studiocat Pro tower just arrived on my doorstep!!!
I am excited. Now I have to get my music room in order.. thanks for the great service Jim. I'll get it unpacked, take the packing out from inside and get it started up tomorrow... I'll call. Thanks Jim, you're the best. I know you are a business and you make money but I sincerely believe that you give more than you get. I know you could charge more than you do and that makes a difference for people. You provide a product and a service that helps us all. Thanks! Julien

I'm happy with my studio cat cat. What are the specs you choose?
StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen. I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I picked up a "Pro" from StudioCat about a year ago. Very nice. Also picked up an RME UCX. Love it.

Based on this thread and my own research into alternatives, I spoke with Jim this morning and will be ordering the Studio Cat Pro Studio DAW with some upgrades. Jim was very patient and knowledgeable and he helped me with the configuration that would suit my needs and stay in my budget. I was going to buy an HP with lots of bells and whistles but decided to go for quality and quietness while retaining speed. I can't wait to get it now. Congrats Julien!

gswitz I'm happy with my studio cat cat. What are the specs you choose?
I didn't get a spec sheet but I'm sure I printed out a receipt. I stayed pretty much stock except I added two HDs, off the top of my head I cannot remember but I think they are both 1T drives with the 500G OS drive, one burner. It sure does look good! I am waiting for a Planar 27" Helium monitor. I have a couple or 19" Dell monitors that have DVI-d connections I can use but don't have cables for them and Jim said VGA would not work. I have the grandkids here through Monday and my video monitor should be here by Tuesday. I'll have Tuesday and Wednesday, maybe part of Monday by myself here, then Thursday through most of next week my wife will be home and bless her heart she talks all the time but if not for her I'd probably still be living on a porch (I did have fun on that porch though!) I'll let you know. I checked Jims site but it says I don't have any recent orders. He just got married so he is excused, lol! Now I have GOT to clean out my music room, I have let too many amps, magazines, and books in there but it wont be too hard to get it going. (Excited!) I hope to get a few things done Tue and Wed. There are some tracks I really need to do. Thanks for asking! Julien

I think you did the right thing. Jim has years of experience figuring out what HW plays well together and is there to help. Plus you give him your SN and REG and you X3 preinstalled! Let me tell you it is one sleek looking machine. A Scandinavian case that just looks killer. It is bigger than I thought it would be but that is good and it has simple ways to clean the filters. Everything is completely pro. You'll be glad you went with Jim instead of HP. I've got a HP laptop, i5, if I disable WIFI I usually don't have trouble but there is something to be said for having tools that you really have confidence in, I think it makes a difference. YMMV, but it matters to me. Jim is great to deal with and I am convinced that he could charge more than he does and I appreciate that he is fair, more than fair I think. I am happy!

I got my first music PC from Jim back in '98. It was an over clocked Celeron! It had 24mb ram!! I ran that thing for years!
My next music PC was based on advise Jim gave here on these forums.
My present music PC is base on advise Jim gave me through his service. It's running like a champ.
Jim is a stand up guy that I would highly recommend. Very few of them around.
