A big thing out of the way....
This was about 3 hours of my Saturday. Rented a skid loader to grade around the house in preparation for some construction work. Part of this was to remove an old antenne mast and footer. I knew it was a piece of concrete but HOLY COW. The pics really don't show you how big this thing was. I have no idea why anyone would have thought that a 20 foot mast needed this much concrete. I had to remove it in order to pour a concrete pad on the back of my house. The skid loader didn't have the power to lift it out. I had to shovel dig the hard clay from around it and dig big a ramp to it from the side. Then I had to attach a towing strap and slowly roll it up the ramp. After I had it up the ramp I needed to push it into the woods at the back of my yard about 50 ft up the hill. This was laying on my electrical service lines,so I was constantly worried that it might tear my service on removal. As it tuned out I did accidentally cut my cable TV and internet connections :( At least I got it out.

Doesn't it seem like every "simple" remodel job is never "simple"?

Our house was built on 1957 and the added on to in 1987. Almost every part form either of those periods is now obsolete.

Exactly, part of the plan was to also finish a retaining wall/flower garden. I thought I had it done when I had another idea out loud and my wife heard it, I said," A nice bird bath or small pond would look nice in the middle of it"....so now that I have opened my yap. We are putting a bird fountain in it with a pump....so now I need to run an electrical feed to power the pump in the fountain lol. I'll try and post pics of that when I get it completed.

mike_mccue That thing is humongous. I thought we agreed not to discuss my ego in public.

I had nothing to do with that. Well, not much. I may have accidentally left a woodchipper back there. It fell off the back and I didn't realize it until 1274. How was I to know that Ugh wouldn't read the warning labels?

Starise As it tuned out I did accidentally cut my cable TV and internet connections :( Hehe... Your typo seems very appropriate with that sentence! Looks like you were trying to remove the work of an over-achiever.
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!
