A feature I've never seen in any DAW.

There is one feature I believe is not available in any DAW, but I might be wrong, that's I'd really like to have in X1.

Am I the only one to wish for this?

I use a lot of guitar pedals, various guitars and do recordings using all sorts of settings.

For example, I may use a certain fuzz pedal with some settings, and maybe I've turned down the volume knob on my guitar to half way on one track etc. Gets worse with acoustic guitars and mic positioning.

The combinations I use of tone & volumes on my guitars and pedal chain / settings is endless.

The problem I ecounter is when I go back to an unfinished recording to add to it or redo a specific part of it, I need to find and recreate that setting again to get the same tone.. Alwasya  big ask...

I take pictures and make notes of my settings, and save them in a separate folder of my song, so I can refer to them.

I just wish I would be able to "attach" all sorts of reference files (pictures, text, video) to individual audio tracks so I could quickly refer back to how I set things up on that specific recording. It would really be great for me to quickly access this stuff for each track.

It's not a crucial feature, but I wondered if anyone else wish for this and if cakewalk could consider it.

Cheers,

Vinny

http://www.meldaproduction.com/freevstplugins/ melda productions here has a free notepad plug-in , cubase has a notepad function, as far as pics go, i suppose you could put jpegs in the track logo folder, but i dont think that will do you much justice, you could record on screen wat you are doing and keep the avi or what ever for reference

There's a notepad area on every track. Open the inspector, click on the track tab & it's under the header, description. I use that for exactly what you are suggesting. Amp, guitar, settings etc.

I see there's some sort of "plugin" now for documenting all your rackmount gear - SOS featured it sometime back. But I get your point - nice idea!
