The "Blue Peter Badge" is a national institution in the UK.

It was a prize/award to viewers taking part in some way in the children's TV program "Blue Peter" which was watched by just about everyone.

If you sent in a drawing that got shown or won a competition you'd get a badge.
There were special badges of different colours for special awards, the highest being Gold for acts of extreme bravery, etc.

Various institutions like museums, etc, will give free entry to badge holders.

When you log off you're back to the "blue peter".

FYI: you can have an online AND an offline avatar.
