A free app that automatically warms your screen colors at night
I suffer from pretty bad insomnia sometimes (the kind where you're exhausted but your mind will not stop racing) and I'm convinced it's due to sitting in front of a bright computer monitor all evening. Last night was the freaking limit, I had a busy day lined up today and I had to do it on approx 30 mins sleep. So tonight I have found this app, F.lux, which automatically dims and warms the colors on your screen according to what time it is and when the sun set. What with this and the ginormous bunch of bananas I'm about to eat, I think I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight http://justgetflux.com/

Well I have to take drugs for that, obviously.

I don't need no app to help me do that.

Flux is the FIRST thing I install on every single computer I use. I spend all day and my free time working on music in front of a screen. Must have in my opinion.

An hour after I'd installed it last night, I turned it off to see how bright my screen had been before. Holy crap...it's no wonder I was having trouble sleeping. It felt like my retinas were being fried with lasers.

Another thing I did last night was to stick a piece of masking tape over the bright blue light on my phone charger. That thing bathes my bedroom in blue, and blue light is especially bad for screwing with your sleep cycle.

It usually is (or should that be turn the AC down? I'm so confused...). I'm with you on covering those lights too. Since my office is in part of my (rather large) bedroom, I've got a piece of black electrical tape covering lots of little annoying lights.
