A general thanks to scook
I don't know him personally, but I think it's pretty cool that he seems to jump in with the right answer or workaround so frequently. I have noticed that no matter what part of the forum i go to, he seems to chime in with a useful answer or resource. More importantly he does it without the bitter arguing or need to make the OP look like an idiot for asking. His answers have helped me a lot and just wanted to say thanks.

Just wanted to let you know it is much appreciated. There are threads where I think I know the answer and then read your response and feel like i learned a better way or at least added an option. There are several people in this forum that seem to know Sonar inside and out but a few are prone to getting into bitter debates or belittling the OP with statements like "why would you want to do something so stupid". Your demeanor matches your help and that is just awesome.

Absolutely agreed thumbs up to Scook. Not to take away the obvious sentiment well deserved, but there are also some people actively partake in difficult threads regardless of how they might come out in the end so I also say thumbs up to the people who perceiver in the face of negativity and say it how it is regardless. but a few are prone to getting into bitter debates or belittling the OP with statements like "why would you want to do something so stupid" You have actively made a quote and we all know exactly to who you are referring to (people who read these forums), and frankly you took him too literally (frankly out of context). If this was a general comment fair enough, but you made the same point twice, the second time even more specifically... I'm sorry this thread is a little too passive aggressive for my taste.

cake..i have no idea what you are talking about. Seriously..no idea. So that everyone knows thing can be subtracted by at least one person :) i was not referring to anyone particular. My quote was made up as a general example. I know statements like that have been said many times by various people. I'm sure I have even done it myself. I was commending scook, not trying to down anyone else.

Everybody now knows there was no harm intended, however I didn't want a few persons or person to think this was directed towards them esp when we had some quotes, . It isn't. Glad we got that sorted, besides everybody calls everybody stupid once in a while so you gotta be careful what you say ;) Everything is fine now.... move on...

The other day when the forum went into one of its weird formatting freakouts I discovered the "Top Posters" section. scook is at the top which seems appropriate because of his ever vigilant helpful presence. Sadly somehow I am in second place due to my relentless numbskullery. Don't seem right... and I haven't even really been posting that much lately. lol Stats should be sorted by Helpful and Best Answer votes... but I guess that's just how the forum software is designed. And fellows... let's stay focused. This thread is about the awesome that is scook. All hail the scook! okay... i'll stop now... but really... you awesome. ;-p

I try to read anything bitflipper posts. I may not understand it but I'm working on the assumption if I expose myself to enough of his knowledge I'll absorb his magic powers. Danny too. Also props to Jeff Evans, AT, and many others... BUT, I think it should be noted that Mr. Dubdisciple himself is quite the helpful and resourceful character. Our styles of music are completely different but he has given me much help and ideas during my time here. So cheers to you too Mr. OP man.

Alex, I applaud your willingness to look for the good in everyone, but let's be honest, there are a few real tools in here. They could certainly benefit from taking a leaf out of Steve's book. When I first joined the Guitar Tracks forum, he was one of the great guys who were always happy to lend a newb a hand. And his help and advice was (and still is) always passed on in a friendly and affable manner, and without the rather tiresome superiority complex and attitude that comes bundled with those I allude to above. A big +1 to the OP from me

Thanks beepster. I know my knowledge on these things pales in comparison to the people you listed. I could have easily made this topic about any of the names you listed, but I just happened to read three posts in a row where scook nailed it and felt compelled. I figured other helpful names would come up. I'm sorry for the mini-tangent since i meant no insult. Maybe I should have phrased it as I like the fact that he always answers the actual question instead of questioning the question. I know my first internal response when someone asks a question about something like Beatscape is "use something else", but then i see someone actually answer it and realize my answer sucked. If a person likes Beatscape, who am I to tell them not to like it? That give the person the most helpful question for their actual question was what I was trying to acknowledge. As far as our tastes in music, i think my screen name and my comments on particular topics give the wrong impression of my musical tastes. I really am all over the place. As I posted in another part of the forum, my favorite albums include the Andrews Sisters and Suicidal Tendencies. I flew all the way to Philly to see Tony Bennet live and I hung out with Old Dirty Bastard a couple of times.

@Grem I apologise for writing "move on", it wasn't targeted towards anybody, I just say it when I am concerned that I might be hijacking a thread. I wish I had gone ahead and posted it anyway. Still its great that I am not the only one that finds Scook's posts to be outstanding. I agree that there are so many others that also deserve praise. The names already mentioned rank high among the most helpful members on this forum. You all get a big thank you from me.
