A long time ago..
I had a problem with my PC setup where it would crash whenever I rendered DSF files (SACD format) no matter what I used or tried. One problem was I never had an alternative soundcard at the time.
The EMU 1212M (v1) does have issues with the DSP where it cannot dynamically alter the sample frequency on the fly without user intervention. It allows you go from 44k/48k, 88.2/96K, 176.4/192K sample rates however this seemed to be an issue with the encoder.
Now that I'm using an external Focusrite soundcard, the problem has vanished. So it works in Sonar Platinum as well as the Teac converter now. So all is good there. Just wanted to lay that the problem to bed now.
