On Cakewalk's Facebook page, there is a video showing the new "Help Module" and it says "March Update" in the voice-over.
So either later today or tomorrow the "O" will be released.

I was thrilled when I got the newest email from the bakers today....but then all it said was that there was a new episode of CakeTalk....Talk about a letdown...

Yet, there is part in me that believes there is a difference between those who just can't wait for the next update and alcohol addicts.

At this point, we know for sure the update will happen today or tomorrow. That narrows it down, right?
...or...it could end up being one of those situations where the product is released on March 32nd, so that the schedule can slip and still ship in March. (I've actually seen this happen before. A very large corporation known by a three letter designator...shipped a certain OS update on something like January 32nd in order to have it go out in a given year.)

I did the Early Access thing and installed the 3 files. The Help Module is a nice feature. Then I opened the CCC and it showed there was a newer version of Platinum available, so I grabbed it and I actually rolled back. A minor bug, and I'm redoing the Early Access thingies.

The current version is 1.1.5.0. To check the C3 version CTRL-click the gear in the upper right of the UI.

It still thinks its downloading, even though it gets not a shred of data.
(internet is up, firewall permission is present)

Yes, you didn't give me time to log in before asking me if I wanted the new version....
P.S. Problem resolved - the download progress display is just not working, it just finished downloading at 0.00%. Delightful :)

Still buggy: - It still checks through updates after every single installation task, no matter for how long you set the update check interval in settings. - Its install windows - even those that don't require clicking continually steal focus from other applications, as if people were going to watch your progress bars and not do other work while these lengthy installations are going on? So you're typing something in Excel or in the browser and suddenly, this dumb little box grabs focus without warning and your typing goes into the ether, leading to words typed lost or you even get a message "are you sure you want to exit? Its not finished installing yet blablabla... " because whatever you were typing activated some button in the dialog that stole focus. - Put up a Windows notification if you have something that needs user intervention, don't just steal focus whenever... and there's literally dozens of those little progress boxes that keep stealing focus. . I know one thing: This piece of software is not done by the Sonar dev team, cause they are more thorough. Did you farm it out or is some intern doing this? This isn't a matter of great programming skills, its a matter of thinking about how CCC will be used - in the background, as much as possible - without disturbing people's work. I could make a flowchart for you, so your intern will have a guide on what behaviors need to be avoided in an automated installer / downloader / license checker.

I've said it time and time again. The best online installer for downloading, updating products, etc,etc... is XLN's online installer. Flawless. CCC is okay but it needs a major overhaul.
