A question about dimension pro drum grooves

This one is paticulary aimed at René,

Ok so i know how to convert a sf2 file to sfz.
All the seperate sounds in the beat are assigned to keys.
One thing a wanna know is, how u can easily make a loop so it would play in sequence with the host (P5v2).

<region> sample=Cold getting beat.akp_0000_Cold getting beat 002.wav delay_beats=0.219 stop_beats=0.430 key=36 lokey=24 hikey=47 hicc1=64 slice=1 etc.
Like this but i had to look in soundforge for the length of the individual sample slices and it takes a loooong time typing these delay_beats and stop_beats.

Is there a slightly easier way to find or process these wav lengths?

And another thing,

U can take the "midi" file from Dimpro and drag into the Groove Matrix but can the whole sequence be looped in
DimPro itself by changing the sfz file?

    Hey naughtyhill,

I'm afraid there's no easy way as today, except for using BeatCreator. In Dimension Pro 1.1, you will be able to load direct REX/RCY/RX2 files into Dimension Pro, which will make things easier. What we did for the factory set is converting from REX into SFZ using a command line converter specifically written for that purpose.

REX2 files (RX2) can only be created by ReCycle. But sfz grooves can also be created using BeatCreator, and spitted directly in sfz format.

Thanks for the reply Lawapa and René.

I have had recycle 2.1 for a long time now and I thought I had no need for it anymore.
I think it's pretty cool that DP will take these Rex2 files so I can use Recycle more often again.
In what way will Rex2 be supported in Dimpro ? Single key assignments and sequence/looping
like it is now with DP's DrumGrooves ? It would be great if u could shed some light on the details.
(if there are any details )

    Cheers,

    NaughT.

BeatCreator will also do that for you. As I posted earlier, the sfz export options are being tidied up by Peter (from Zero-X) at the moment and we should see a release very soon! This will be the ultimate tool for creating sfz Synchronized Loops from user files since it can also save ACIDized .wav files (think: Groove Clipping in Project 5)

Yes. Key assignments for whole groove-playback with -12~11 transpose, plus individual slices playback (as Dimension/Dimension Pro sfz grooves).

Also the drag and drop of the MIDI clip into your host will be available, identically to the sfz grooves.

... and the wheel for reverse.
