A quick question regarding the new "Code of Conduct"
Just out of interest, does anyone know if the terms of the new "Code of Conduct" (COC) are applicable to the lyrical content of tunes posted in the Songs Forum? Especially if one posts the lyrics in the OP? If not, are we allowed to post lyrics with absolutely no restrictions on content whatsoever? I would personally hope the COC extends to cover posted songs and their lyrics. Otherwise, one could literally post anything, providing there is an attached song that contains those lyrics.

This is one thing we specifically discussed. It was decided to leave it to the common sense of the poster. If you have explicit lyrics and don't issue a warning and we get a complaint then we'll most likely add a language warning for you. If you actually type out the explicit lyrics in the post... then usual C of C rules would apply. Edit to add: Most people in the past have been pretty good about issuing language warnings with their song posts when required. I see no reason why this should change.

I am no expert on super heroes but I did watch Super Friends when I was little. Please correct me if I am wrong but I don't think Aquaman had on board sonar as a super power. I think those white rings emanating from his head were used to indicate that he was telekinetically communicating with the fish.

The Code is explained here:
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

I suspect he would probably have a laugh, though the whole tone of the above statement could be changed with a single letter word. @DrewFx1 what are these goto statements in the code example?

I posted some pretty heavily political songs in the past and they were just fine. It was hard to miss the political slant in them.... I think the songs are fine... it's the discussions that break the rules.

Within the context of the forums I would suggest that you use your common sense but any words that you would prefer not used in front of your children, Mother, favourite aunt and also what most people understand as being profanities are probably the ones to avoid. As for lyrical content I would suggest that providing a warning about language that is likely to offend would be the appropriate approach.
