A very late registration question

Hello all, I've heard from everyone everywhere that this is the best place to get answers, The Cakewalk Foums....DOH!
 
 
My problem is not unique, I'm sure, but I want to make sure what to do, so I don't mess up registering my product.
 
I bought; SONAR X1 PRODUCER From Studio Direct on 12-Sept- 2011 (yes, it is NOT a typo), I bought it as part of their "Quad capture and Producer upgrade"  (have sales reciept to prove it).  I am a disabled Vet, and had to save pennies for a long time to buy it.  Then I've saved much longer to buy the perfect computer for it, which I finally did.  
 
The Problem; from looking at all the reviews and things elsewhere, I have seen absolute horror stories of people trying to register if just 6 months has gone by.  As you can see mine is much longer than that. So, I need the best way to go about this.
 
Problem two; I do not want the computer I bought for the DAW to be anywhere near the net, I am virus-phobic (the one I'm using here is my Play/work computer). I pan on scuttleing any files I've already put together for Producer on flash drive or DVD.
 
As you can see, right now I am "up the river..."  Any help, or pointing in the right direction for help will be a Blessing.

By the way - you may want to go through the process of removing any bloatware on the new computer you saved up for buying for use with Sonar.

Typically, pre-built computers have a bunch of junk on them, including free versions of stuff, trial versions of other stuff, and all kinds of gidgets and such that you just do not need for a dedicated DAW.

In addition to excess software, there are also likely to be a bunch of background services installed that will all compete for memory and other resources.  You may want to go through the process of optimizing the new computer to disable a bunch of those background services.  Sweetwater has a guide on this, also Black Viper has outstanding information, as well.

There is a free program out there called DPC Latency Checker that you can download and run for free on your computer - unless it is running Windows 8, because the timer values for it do not display correctly for Windows 8 machines.  Anyways, the DPC Latency Checker will let you know if your computer is beefy enough to do audio streaming, such as with Sonar.

UPDATE;   I was so scared of doing the wrong thing (because of the stories I've heard) that I almost heldoff again.  But, VLAB's way seemed simple enough....so I tried it...I ended up having to call, but the support was tremendous, in 15 minutes I had all the numbers I needed, it was late yesterday, so I haven't tried them yet.....but I am positive and excited.   CAKEWALK SUPPORT ROCKS!

When I do it (Sonar installation) is there anything I need to look for to put the registartion numbers in, or does it just send me there.   Sorry, while not new to computers, DAW is very very new to me.

You guys were so helpful before, I'm hoping to get a couple or three helps here;

1) My purchase of "PRODUCER" came with 4 DVD- ROMS,  It installed the first one, even let me register the product, listento the demo song..etc etc etc.  But I am confused, as it NEVER asked me for the next disc, nor did I put it in.

2) I had it give me the 64 bit version (per my computer) could this be the problem/reason it doesn't need the other three discs?  Do I need to install the other 3, even though it never asked for them?

I thought learning my old VS-1680 was a trip( still can only do 1/2 of what it can do),but this thing is like the Enterprise, in love with it totally.....I see the learning curve will be very steep, like the why/wherefore's of these other three discs.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I don't have the X series disks either but they should be labeled. In previous versions that I do have, one was the SONAR disk, one was the DimPro disk (synth+samples), one was the Beatscape disk (synth+samples) and the last was Additional Content (demo project, loops and other stuff). Each has it's own installer; so they do not chain together in one installation pass.

Thank you all very much.  I looked at the discs again, and you guys were right of course.  Amazing what you miss when you are all excited..lol.

I thank all of you for your help, much better than other places I've been.  Everything is coming along fairly well now as to set up, BUT...the dumb question for today is; is there a way to register Guitar Rig 4LE without having to go online?  as I said before, I want my DAW computer no where near the net. I think I saw something on the actual page that came up that said I could register it from this computer, then I guess transfer the number to the other comp?
or is there a way to just call NI(?) and get it that way?
