A victory for Canadian Artists.

I have mentioned here many times in the past that current copyright laws do not fully protect the actual artist, but are designed to protect the interests of the industry.

Well, in Canada, we have seen the first of what I hope are many victories against the industry. An industry who does not like to pay artists. Major record cos are being forced to  pay out 50 million to canadian artists who were unfairly treated. The solution is, sadly, an "in house" solution, but one can hope we will fix the laws to ensure that it is not the industry that regulates itself, but us.

Of course the industry, in its settlement admit "no wrong doing", but we all know the truth.

    Hey Shad.

    Good to hear from you!

That's better news to me than what you are reporting.

Haha, there's the Canadian music scene for you.

It clarifies what I saw on MTV Cribs once:
Vince Neil had the typical Vegas mansion with an inflatable wife.  Larry Gowan had a nice bungalow in Toronto with his family.  The lead singer of Helix lives in a run-down house in London Ontario, and found his bedroom dresser on the side of the road.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the hellos. Sorry i have not been around much, but i have not had much of a musical muse since the split with the wife. I still lurk as you see.
