A-300PRO Controller/Surface anomaly ???

I just received the A-300Pro for xmas and have begun having some interesting issues...perhaps someone could help.

Inititially, I installed the the drivers as directed on a Vista64 system and was able to set the controller/surface parameters just as advertised; the Midi Device input/output options appeared just as described in the manual and also as I have read on the forums.

Midi Device Inputs:
A-PRO MIDI IN
A-PRO 1
A-PRO 2

Midi Device Outputs:
A-PRO
A-PRO MIDI OUT

Later I decided to change my operating system to Windows 7 64bit (because Vista sucks). I performed a clean install on a brand new drive.
I went through the same procedure with installing the drivers, however, when I proceded to setup the controller/surface parameters I encountered the following listings for the midi devices:

Midi Device Inputs:
A-PRO
MIDIIN2 (A-PRO)
MIDIIN3 (A-PRO)

Midi Device Outputs:
A-PRO
MIDIOUT2 (A-PRO)

The only strange thing I noticed during the setup was after the drivers installed (after connecting the controller), Windows confirmed the successful installation, however, the Roland driver installation wizard never confirmed the completion.

Has anyone encountered such anomalous behavior with their system? The Soft Synths appear to be working fine as well.

I appreciate any input or suggestions.

System:
Intel Core2 Quad
EVGA nForce 780i SLI mainboard w/Azalia onboard audio.
EVGA PCIx 16 Video card
8G memory
Windows 7 64bit
