Kami, shoot them an email. These guys are really responsive. Give them a shot. You may have found a bug that they don't know about.

Sent this morning, hopefully it's not a limitation.

The previous modulation set up was fine for controlling with knobs. but terrible for breath controllers. This new system is better. I'm guessing they'll put in UltraAnalog3 next, which I never use because o the same limitation. I hope they give more than just 4, that's easy to use up, but it will definitely open up UltraAnalog to me.

I revisited the offer in my account this morning and now it shows...

  • Chromaphone 2
  • Lounge Lizard EP-4
  • String Studio VS-3
  • String Theory
  • Ultra Analog VA-2
for the same $124 upgrade price. So they have now added String Theory sound pack.
Price per item is now $24.80!

Well, got it at last.
And it’s good.
Real good.
Always thought String Studio VS-2 was one of the lesser AAS instruments (and Chromaphone the best).
Now this VS-3 version of String Studio is miles more advanced and finally has a full blown string tone, deep and warm. Pretty pretty pretty good.

Ditto.
The demos for v3 sound really nice. Glad to hear that you think the new version is solid as i plan to upgrade shortly.

Got my reply, they sad it was a limitation of the model. Disappointing that you can't put expression into the bowing technique. Not really fully modulated. I'm going to pass of this.

Dissappointing. But you may not be the only one asking for this feature. Maybe next version?!

Haven't played with 3 much yet but I love version 2 for layering in with guitar parts. I can play in a midi part and a guitar part at the same time with my Fishman midi dealy. Then try different patches or start from scratch. Pull up a little or pull up a lot. Pan the String Studio way off to the side. Maybe some big hall verb or maybe a small wood room. Fun stuff. If Fleer likes V3, it should be  a winner. I'm looking forward to digging in.

It's Bass, not Bass.

Lol - it is indeed.

Depending on the time, place, motion and whether GAS is considered as an acronym or a verb it might be considered offensive to some.
- my wife gets irritated with me for indulging in either form.

LOL!
Come to think of it, just had a look at the sound packs for String Studio VS-2 and VS-3. They’re all top notch, not a dud in there. Here’s hoping the older sound packs may get an update to allow for more layering, String Theory style.

Good grief... I have rarely used AAS and only had the Session Bundle from SONAR. Because of this thread I was trying to find the differences between UA Session and UA VA-2 after I logged into my account... there is an old thread about the GUI being smaller/limited in Session (true), but after downloading the trial I finally realized that all of these free packs I have been installing over the years do not work with Session, only AAS Player (incredibly limited, so never used) and UA VA-2. Logging in and checking the "Upgrade" was worth it. I ended up grabbing the Professional bundle, so now those free packs I had over the years can (finally) be used. Sorta funny.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.
