ACT Midi Controller output?

Hello,
The Input and Output ports are both set, the ACT Midi Controller receives nicely the data but nothing is sent back.
Is there a way to make ACT send back the midi messages it receives ?

Thank you,
Best Regards.

What do you mean by 'nothing is sent back'?

What are you trying to accomplish?

    Hi abacab,
    Thanks for the reply.
For example if I press a back-lit button on the keyboard controller it sends a midi message to ACT.
if ACT sends back the same message to the keyboard controller, this button will turn its light on.

The main reason for my quest is that I 've just realized that it is possible to achieve a "Shift lock" in ACT,
by assigning a toggle button to the shift function.
The toggle button sends 127 or 7f when pressed once and 0 when pressed again.
This makes possible to use the shifted functions without having to keep pressing the Shift button.

But this has no value if you don't know if the button is on or off.
Hence the need of the feedback to see the status of the button.

I know it's possible to do this with AZslow's AZ Controller, but it's too complicated.
I'm using currently 3 instances of ACT.
It would take ages to setup and that's definitely not the goal.

    Thanks.

I'm not aware of any feedback design in ACT.  If you are already familiar with Azslow's solutions, then you probably should contact him.

I've only used the ACT plugin for the Roland A-300PRO, which lets me send commands to the DAW.

The commands to the DAW are not  the issue :)
It's the commands back from the DAW that seem to be missing.

When I use the VS-100 for the Komplete Kontrol transport, it does send back the commands.
When I hit the transport buttons, the corresponding Kontrol buttons lights turn on.

I was just hopping that there is some setting that I've been missing to activate the midi feedback in ACT.

Anyway it's not a big deal.

The feedback is never as simple as someone can think.
When the software react on some physical operation (f.e. button press), it is like "MIDI Learn".
So,  it is simple "signal received -> reaction" logic.
The feedback is when the software detects some changes within the DAW or logic within itself (f.e. shift pressed) and then send the information back to the controller. That is why configurations with feedback are always "advanced", in any DAW.

    Hi azslow,
    Thanks for the explanation.
Unfortunately it ends my dream of an easy quick fix.

With "Quick start" + "Startup preset" + "Buttons feedback", you can do what you want within 1 hour...

    Thanks azslow,

Well I did make the transports for the Komplete Kontrol with the "Startup preset"  with feedback for the buttons.
    And it worked nicely.
But then I couldn't bring myself to start with the Impact LX25+ setting up the controls for the mixer and the plugins so I gave up and made a setup, which I'm almost happy with, with ACT despite its limits.

I really thank you very much for your concern and your help but I would hate to waste your time, as I know that you have much more important things on your hands.

    Best Regards.
