ACT, ProChannel, and switching

Hey all, I have a question.

I have an Edirol PCR-800 and I've setup buttons, sliders, knobs to various things in the new ProChannel and actually had more success with it than I had with other similar mappings in the past.  It's actually usable the way I set it up and it really does remember how to do it even from channel to channel automatically - great.

But now from a usability perspective.  I can control the EQ section for example, but to get to the COMP section and control it, I have to get my mouse and click somewhere in the Comp section to get ACT to switch context.  At this point I tend to continue to use the mouse rather than the control surface.

Any advice to shortcut or hotkey from one place to another with ACT, especially in regard to the new Pro Channel?

    Have you tried mapping one of the buttons on your control surface to "Focus Next Plugin" in the ACT controller dialog?

    That's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head. I don't know if it will work with ProChannel or not.

    If I get a chance, I will try it later. I've been kind of waiting for the dust to settle before trying to use ACT with the ProChannel.

    I have basically the same issue with the A-500PRO. To get around this I assigned a couple of buttons on the control surface to be 'focus next/previous track' (i think I have the words wrong here) and 'focus next/previous plugin' and then I can more or less route around the project without a mouse. It's a bit roundabout but it's okay. Oh and you can make the buttons say 'view whatever' which will focus on whatever e.g. synth rack. The prochannel I'm not too familiar with because it's new. I've also found it useful to have some buttons give different screensets, a function which you can do with X1.

    Ok - so thanks for the replies.  I tried mapping a few buttons as suggested, but it doesn't appear that the ProChannel is considered a plugin in the order of things.  When I say focus next plugin, my PodFarm plugin gets selected and that's it - it's the only plug I have in the project and it's the only one that get selected no matter what track I focus on first - one with the pro channel open even - hit focus next plug and *bam* I'm in the PODFarm not to escape until I click elsewhere.

    Blades, did you ever have success with switching within the pro channel?
    I am desperately trying to find a way to control the prochannel without the mouse!!!!!
