ACT Question

I'm trying to set up my Axiom 25 as an ACT controller. The problem is that, even though I'm able to find an Axiom 25 preset in the following location, it's not available as a preset in the dropdown list in the ACT plugin.

C:\Users\Ben\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Shared Presets\{0A7F7099-E2BC-4869-B943-914D70FB0FE6}

There's an Axiom 49 preset in there as well and that does show up in the dropdown list. Totally confused as to why this would be.

I have 8 and 8.53 installed as well. My only guess is that the above file location was used for a previous version. If so, can I copy that preset file to the new location that X1 points to? Does anyone know what that would be (if this is even the explanation)?

Thanks.

    Thanks, pwal. I'm using Windows 7 x64, but it seems odd that that would make a difference. I haven't tried renaming it. There are quite a few that don't display though, which is why I am wondering if there's another folder it's pointing to with different/fewer presets. I'll try renaming it and seeing if that makes a difference. Thanks for the tip.

    ben,

    My advice is to not worry about a preset.  Reason being that the presets are for Axiom and you may have an Axiom or you may have a 2nd Gen Axiom.  The newer 2nd gen Axiom gave me a headache in the setup because SONAR does not utilize the DIRECLINK and you have to use basic midi in / midi out as your choice instead of the newer direclink.

    I say start from scratch and make your own preset.  Look for a YOUTUBE video on Sonar and Oxygen8.  That video is probably one of the best at showing the step by step.

    Dell XPS Studio / Core I-7 920 / 8GB DDR-3/  Windows 7/ 2-1 Tb SATA hd.  SONAR X3b Producer / Axiom49 (2nd Gen)/ Profire 2626 / ProTools 11

    Thanks, travismc1. It's a first generation Axiom 25. I'll check out the video when I'm back in the studio. Cheers.
