ACT settings not being remembered between Sonar restarts

Hi

Anybody experiencing this problem?

Summary: ACT mapping not remembered between projects or Sonar restarts
Description:
 - insert any plugin (e.g. Channel Tools)
 - change the ACT mapping as described in the manual (ACT learn functionality)

Expected Results: ACT mappings are changed and persist between Sonar restarts and different projects
Actual Results: ACT mappings are lost and have to be re-defined after Sonar restarts and for different projects

I had actually filed a problem report, but just got a reply back that "The problem you are experiencing is most likely a system specific problem or a configuration issue that we believe can be resolved with assistance from Cakewalk Technical Support".

While Cake support is helpful, there's usually a couple of days between mails ... hence, I post here for suggestions first.

I'm using the VS-700. I'm running on dedicated DAW with admin account, but maybe this is still a permission issue? Anybody know where Sonar stores these ACT mappings internally as soon as the ACT learn is accomplished?

I do use ACT. I just have no idea what's causing your problem. Did you contact tech support after receiving the reply message for your problem report?

    Tak T.

I had this a long time ago in X1. Try this. Navigate to "C:\Users\[yourusername]\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\ACT Data" and rename the "SonarX2act" XML file to something like "SonarX2act-bak" (or the plugin one if that's the problem)

Obviously you lose any setup you already have. That should fix corruption if that is the problem. If it isn't you've still got the original file to rename.

I tried, more than once, started with admin rights, started the regular way ... but it doesn't seem to store anything in the Cakewalk or %APPDATA%/Cakewalk directories i.e. when renaming that particular file, it never gets rewritten. Actually the only file that changed at all during that test was "ctrlsurface.dat" and that is a binary one ... time to get support involved I reckon

Got support involved and had one reply asking for more info, but that's been a while ago now and nothing afterwards ... so still no luck with ACT ...
