You need to remove your pre windows 10 computer name in the online installer and then activate on your windows 10 computer.  Is this a pain yes, but it does work had to do this.

    According to XLNAudio's FAQ:

To redeem this issue, simply run the Online Installer. You will be asked to add your computer again. After that, hit the "Install and update all" button to authorize your products.

I had the same issue as OP.
    I followed the procedure above.
    It worked.

Likewise for me.  The message says it is the computer name that is in error, but actually XLN tracks the OS, number of cores and memory size.  You have to delete the old system.  I'm not sure exactly what action clears this up.  I used the XLN online installer to add a new entry for my Windows 10 system.  It happened that there was an update available for AC2, so I installed that at the same time.  One way or another the problem is corrected.

DAW: SONAR Platinum Audio I/F: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 gen2
    OS: Windows 10 64-bit CPU: Haswell 4790 4.0 GHz, 4 core, 8 thread  Memory: 16 GB      Video: GTX-760Ti
Storage: Sandisk SSD 500GB for active projects. ReadyNAS 20 TB for long-term storage

Yep.  Same thing happened to me when I got the Threshold 2 Windows 10 update last week.  No biggie.  Just run the online installer, remove the "old computer" and add the "new computer."

Takes about 3 minutes total. (It has to "refresh your installs)

This is really a great forum

I was getting this error on Sonar and I also got it on Sony Movie Creator 13.

I sent a message to XLN a few days ago but all they did was send me an auto response that they would contact me soon.

Anyway, the re-running of the online installer (with no DAWs loaded) seems to have fixed the problem, at least for now.

    Great forum, thanks.

It would really help if someone walks me through exactly this procedure!

It seems that Windows changes the computer ID with some updates (?), which affects anything that depends on the computer ID for identification. With XLN I agree it's a hassle, but at least they make it pretty simple. You run the online installer, de-authorize your computer ID, then authorize the new one.

FWIW with software that allows to key to a hard drive/computer or iLok, these days I'm choosing iLok for this kind of reason.

As far as I remember the computer ID is created from the disc id where the O/S boot system resides on (usually the C: drive) and the version of Windows. Unfortunately with Windows 10 every new build (typically every 6 months) will change the key hence the issue whereas before it only changed when you went from windows 7 to windows 8 for example. It also used to use the MAC address of the network card but I think that is no longer used.
It was basically set-up to enable Microsoft to track whether a PC had a valid license for windows or not and is somewhat redundant as all future windows builds are effectively free.

Sonar: Platinum & Studio One 3
Production PC: Intel i7-6950x 10 cores (20 processors) CPU @ 3.00GHz (with overclock to 3.60GHz), RAM 64GB, Windows 10 - 64 bit, Sound Blaster ZxR Pro, Dual Nvidia GTX1080 with 2 widescreen Monitors
MIDI: Akai Advance 49, Roland A-500Pro, Akai MPD230, Softube Console 1, Akai EWI USB, Roli Seaboard 25
Instruments: Martin D12X1AE Dreadnought - 12 string, Martin Ed Sheeran X Signature Edition, Fender Standard Precision-Bass Black MN, Gibson Custom Shop EDS-1275 Cherry (12 & 6 string dual)
