AD2 - How to copy sections of a beat sequence

Hey all,
 
Trying to familiarize with AD2. Love the overall interface, but one aspect is kinda driving me nuts. The beat sequences can be loaded in the preview window anywhere from 1 to 16 measures. However the sequence always starts with measure 1. Which is fine, however most of the time I want to import just a couple measures of the sequence into my track (usually a fill or transition somewhere in the middle). As it is now, I have to drag the entire 16 bar sequence and then manually trim the clip to get the exact part I want. It's not a deal-breaker per se, but it is unnecessarily cumbersome and makes the process a little frustrating.
 
Is there a workaround to this or am I just doing it wrong?

    I'm sure others will chime in but I think that is your only option.
