ADAT ADA8200 connected via adat to 01v96i Inputs Missing

I am using 01v96i as my interface and it has 16 input/output channels and they work great with Platinum. I purchased the ADAT ADA8200 to take advantage of an additional 8 input/output but Platinum is only seeing the 01v96i inputs and not the ADAT inputs. 01v96i is the Master and ADA8200 is the slave. I was wondering if there was something within Platinum that I need to enable to allow Platinum to recognize the ADAT inputs? ADAT ADA8200 inputs are showing up in the 01v96i starting at channel 17 and I can get input and output via the 01v96i but nothing in Platinum.  Thanks in advance for your help

    The short answer is no.

There is nothing that needs to be changed within Sonar.
I use an RME with a ASP880 plugged into the ADAT.
I can see all the channels in Sonar without doing anything.

Is there an interface related app that runs in Windows that you can see the meters for the ADA8200 bouncing?

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Yes the 01v96i I can see the input moving on channel 17, I have tested the direct out of ADA8200 and that works. I think the 01v96i is limited in showing input for channels past 16. Before buying the ADA8200 channels 17-32 served as output channels for 1-16 if that makes sense.  Ex Input channel is 1, change the layer channel 17 which is really channel 1 is not an output channel.

Are you running at 96? maybe if you record at 48 you can see all the channels?

This says it supports 16 channels bi-directional USB stuff.

Thank you so it turns out I have a 16 channel limit, the 01v because it is using USB. My expectations were that I could use ADA8200 to add additional channels and I can just not the way I want.  I have to route the inputs of the ADAT to the one of the USB channels of the 01v. With that being said it turns out I need an RME which I am not sure what that really is that will allow me to take advantage of all the inputs of via adat. Any RME suggestions?

RMEs are cool. I have a UCX. I wish I'd purchased the UFX.

With the UFX, you could run 8 channels into the UFX from the ADA8200.
You get 4 mix pres with input plus an additional 8 channels you provide the pres for... takes you to 20 including the ADA8200 channels.

You could also route 8 channels out of the O1V to to the UFX using optical (you'll have to be at 44.1 or 48 for the ADA8200).

    This gives you 28 channels.

For mixing purposes, you could mix the 20 channels from the UFX and the ADA8200 together and send in 8 total channels to the O1V.

If you need to increase on the RME side, you can add 2 more UFX units that will all operate as one unit (you plug them into 3 distinct USB ports on the computer). So that will take you to 90 in 90 out if you need it. You can add UFX units one at a time, but the current limit is 3.

All the while, your inputs on the O1V will remain the same, so you may have to bus together drums using RME Total mix before sending them to the O1V for example.
