ADK Pro Audio...Consumer Reviews?

Hi,
Was wondering if anyone here has dealt with ADK Pro Audio and could tell me whether or not it was a good experience.
Thanks.

Yes, and it was great experience. Scott and his team are top notch IMO. I have purchased twice from him, once a Lynx audio card and once a higher end mic preamp....both times were great experiences...and the prices were great too!

Good people, I bought a LapTop from them a few months ago. One of the best moves I ever made. It was shipped fast and well packed, a true "plug and play" setup, all the sofware and drivers were installed and ready to go. I am very happy with it !!

Best company I've ever dealt with on a range of issues, above and beyond the fact that they make the best dedicated DAW PCs around for reasonable prices (considering the components you're getting, which are the best, hand-selected and tested for quality and compatibility).

I would call them if I were you - they won't pressure you and whether you buy from them or not, you'll likely learn a thing or two (or more, I did - and continue to) - they really go out of their way to make sure they build what you need, not what's expensive, and that you are nicely future/expansion-ready for your specific needs.

They are really bleeding edge in that regard. I bought two DAWs from them and several pieces of audio hardware, but my "oldest" DAW is almost two and is still on the very cutting edge today, which is pretty amazing in the world of computers.

The lifetime tech support is worth the price of admission alone. A five minute phone call has saved me hours of troubleshooting on several occasions. And you actually get someone, in Kentucky at ADK who picks up the phone and answers your questions. And that means support not just for your DAW, but for whatever else you buy from them.

Only place I go for DAWs and DAW-related stuff.

More stuff than you.  But you probably know how to use it.

Although I have never bought a DAW from them (I build my own) I have been buying other studio equipment from them (Aurora16, UAD-1, etc) and they are most excellent.

    Thanks everybody.
I was just curious as I've noticed there are so many other companies now popping up that build custom made DAW's compared to only a few years ago.
It can get overwhelming trying to decide which company "really" cares about the little guy"after" the sale, especially if you don't pay for thier, sometimes at an additional cost, premium tech support.
We here in NYC have witnessed some reputable local companies swatting away the little guy post sale, while lavishly catering to thier bigger, pro level clients, and it can be disheartening.
    Thanks again.

Scott's awesome. The laptop we purchased a few years ago is STILL going strong, sounds great, and works perfectly. I strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a solid machine.

As an aside, Scott built a machine for a photographer friend. His price was slightly higher than a MicroCenter machine with similar specs. However, here's the main difference: My friend fought the MC machine for two weeks before returning it and purchasing the machine from ADK. The ADK machine arrived in 3 days, and was up and running an hour after he pulled it out of the box. He's doing MAJOR work on this thing, and it sings!

So, that's two machines I've had personal experience with, and they're BOTH awesome!

I'm a long-time customer and I am very, very happy with ADK! They are certainly one of the best (if not THE best) DAW builders. Great tech support too! I always highly recommend them to anyone looking for a pro DAW.

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you might think.

I went to ADK to get my present system (see signature). In addition to assembling the computer and OS, they also sold me a FF800 (at a good discount) integrated & checked-out with the computer. They installed Sonar, BFD, and Ozone for me. They also sold me a Digimax FS (also at a good discount). All this equipment has performed great.

I have dealt with Mike there at ADK most of the times I've called down there, mainly because he is a Sonar user and also has quite a bit of experience with BFD & BFD2. He has always been very helpful and it's great that he has experience with the same DAW S/W we are all running.

    So yes, I’d recommend ADK.

    Ok, thanks again.
Looking foward to getting my machine from ADK soon. Being built now.
Besides running Sonar, Komplete 5 and Sound Forge, am hoping that the specs on this machine will be equally adept at running Adobe CS3 Suite for video.
I have heard, and have experienced in the past, machines that are hard to get to peform well as both audio "and" video workstations. I'm hoping that this time things will be different.

Got a computer from ADK late in 2006. Great company and great service - willing to take the time to answer many questions. I hope to be able to get a second system from them shortly. Having a box that works as advertised is worth every penny.

Sorry for bumping an old topic.

Does anyone know if they ship to europe? What would be the average costs for shipment if available (e.g. for a DAW Pc)?

    Thanx.

I'll just chime in to give another thumbs up to ADK, and Scott specifically (as if you needed more info to tell they are a great company!)... I just spoke with Scott yesterday and he helped me through getting all the best parts to configure my new Quad PC for Sonar. I've built a few DAWs myself, but it is hard to keep up with the latest PC components, so it is great to have a place like ADK you can call and they are already up on what works best not only for a DAW, but for specific DAW setups (Sonar, Pro Tools, UAD, etc). Prices are great too.

Just tried the link, works here also. I did receive an EM from Scott about their having power problems in the area, or something similar, and that he'd be nearly unreachable for the next few days, so maybe that has been resolved now.

There's some dude in Turkey who hacks our web hosting provider from time to time and for some reason picks on our site, among many others.

Power is back on in Cincinnati in almost all places, so we're back and good to go on both fronts!
