ARA - Region Effects - Drum Replacer - Plug in Manager

Its nice to see the drum replacer and its very nice to see more ARA development.

But unless I missed something in the documentation, or perhaps there is something in Platinum that is not in X3, there is no equivalent to the VST/Direct X Plug In Manager for ARA effects. So every time you click to edit in Region Effects you have to choose from any installed ARA effect.

For instance I got so tired of seeing Melodyne, which I rarely use, I went and un-installed it in Windows. It would have been nice to have it available but hidden.

Since I almost never record acoustic drums it would be nice to have the effect available, but hidden until needed.

BTW, my spelling corrector tells me Replacer is not a valid word.

At the moment there are only 3 (maximum) possible entries and with Drum Replacer there will be four.
V-Vocal Many folks no longer have It installed
Melodyne you don't use it so you've uninstalled it
    VocalSync
    DrumReplacer

Are you saying that it's a hassle to select the one you want to use. I'm not tying to be argumentative; I just don't understand why it's a problem. Sure if there were a heap of items like in the Pro Channel but there's not.

I admit I am one of the few who find Melodyne to be a real pain. Just about every time I use it I get angry.

So many times I wanted to use V-vocal, I would end up in Melodyne by accident. Melodyne was listed first and there was no way to change the order. I use V-vocal to check intonation when I practice singing, so I am constantly using V-vocal.

I suppose it is another quirk personal to me.  You are correct 4 choices is not so much, even though for me only one will be used 99 percent of the time.

I hope ARA gets developed to the point where there are a heap of items.  I like the general off-line editor concept, and I see lots of opportunities for new innovative ARA products. I hope the interface gets popular with third party developers, too.

Why not just hotkey V-Vocal? I always CTRL+M Melodyne, I don't think I've ever purposely opened the region fx menu.

    Yes good idea, I agree.

It would be cool if there was a hot key for V-vocal, but evidently Cakewalk left this out of the mix, and it is not possible to add one. There was a thread about the missing hot key for V-vocal in a March 2014 thread.

I think because VVocal is not part of Sonar anymore, and only accessible from pre X3 versions, that it seems unlikely that a Hot Key could be made available. A pity really because it is a good idea.

Huh, really? That's surprising and disappointing. I can imagine them leaving it out as default but I'm surprised you can't set one. Sorry, I assumed it were possible since I used it previously and have since switched to Melodyne, doing the same.
