ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

I've been so busy dealing with family issues and preparing to move that I haven't had time to backup my files in a while.  So, today, while packing I decide to do my usual PC maintenance and backup my files (mostly important personal and new business files) and what happens?

Tons of errors about data corruption!  It appears I've lost most of my latest (and most important) files.  I've had utilities trying to fix and then copy out what I could running all day (9 hours so far).  I'm supposed to be doing my final packing today and now I'm WAY behind there too.  Holy crap!!!  It couldn't have picked a worse day for this to happen!

Naturally, this drive includes my email database and I'm currently trying to sell several pieces of furniture before I go - figures!  This almost makes me not notice the fact that my internet was also down all day until just a few minutes ago.  WTF???!

ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

Have you ever considered using RAID (no, not the bug kind)? Creates a copy on the fly so you never have to worry about backing up.

    btw, nice pirate impression.

Not sure if the hard drive is failing or if something else caused the data corruption (which, obviously, would have propagated to the redundant drives).

All of that said, I can't afford a RAID right now (or a replacement drive).

This month's going to be fun!
