ASIO Aggregation - Problem or FR?

I know that the ASIO specification is fairly specific, and allows only one device to be selected.

I also know that the folks at Apple got around this by opening ASIO devices in the CoreAudio layer, and then making them available to applications as a pool of inputs and outputs.

And it probably would be better for all of us if MS did the same thing, but the audio/music community has been asking MS for a CoreAudio-like feature since probably the turn of the century. In fairness, the current implementation isn't bad, but it isn't as good as it could be, and it doesn't support ASIO.

So I'm wondering if there is anyway Cakewalk could open all ASIO drivers and make them available to Sonar.

In my case I have multiple ASIO devices (UA Apollo Twin USB, Presonus Audiobox 1818 VSL, Line6 Helix), and yeah, it would be cool to be able to use them all at the same time. I've tried various hacks, I mean work-arounds, but the latency is unacceptable.

Anyone else in the same boat?
