ASIO v2.9 and Sonar LE 6.3 output to speakers problem (win 7 64 bit)

Hi, New to installing this so forgive my ignorance, help appreciated! Installed Sonar LE, installed ASIO version 2.9, created 'normal' project, checked under 'options' then 'audio' asio installed correctly, armed track 'R' and mic working but no audio on playback. Mic is Samson G Track. I think there may be a setting in ASIO that is wrong. In ASIO settings 'WDM device list' I have three devices listed: 'VIA High Definition Audio' (input & output on/active)...onboard audio 'HD Pro Webcam C920' (input on) 'USB Audio CODEC' which I think is the Samson G track (ouput & input on/active) Is there something I need to deactivate in order to get sound out through the speakers? Help very much appreciated Harry ....screen dump attached of ASIO

    Welcome to the forum!
Are you sure G-Track supports ASIO? I didn't see ASIO mentioned on G-Track site. IIRC the USB-mics don't support it. Remember: G-Track is NOT a microphone, it's a soundcard with a mic intergrated to it (or vice-versa), and that may cause hickups here and there.

Uhh...OK... I checked your attached picture.  ASIO4ALL is not ASIO, it's WDM  wrapper which should work with USB-mics.
Select only the G-Track (USB-audio) in the list. Trying to use several soundcards is often problematic.

Do you see meters moving on the audio track? Is there any sign of a signal getting anywhere? Does it draw a waveform on the track when you record and the cursor moves?

Your "Audio Options" window says bit depth is 24, but in ASIO4ALL panel all bit depths are set to 16. I wonder if it matters.

Someone wiser than me will chime in, I'm sure :o/

PS: There are lots of threads about USB mics in SONAR forum and everywhere.

Kalle, thanks for the reply I am getting a signal and waveform on the screen from the mic, in asioforall I turned of everything except the USB G track mic inputs and outputs, sound outside of Sonar is working perfect out through speakers. Thought there may be a toggle or mute within Sonar that I was missing, I thought turning on the the (VIA)onboard audio out on the computer may have given me sound out but still no sound. Could there be something else hijacking the output? I'm not sure G Track supporting it either, if not what do I revert to? Thanks again Kalle later Dingzie

    Welcome to the forum.
Where are the speakers plugged in?

Yes Greg, To answer your question, line out from computer goes to Naim pre-amp then to Naim power amp then to speakers.....as of this morning I ran a line from headphone jack of G Track to line in on back of computer and voila! I'm now getting sound out of one speaker! which is correct for mono signal, haven't tried an instrument yet, may have to get some sort of Y connector for headphones, when I arm the track 'R' there is a lot of background/floor noise, is there somewhere I can minimize or eliminate this? As for ASIOFORALL it seems to have red X'ed my on board audio, and is now exclusively using the G Track mic input/output drivers. Thanks Dingzie
