[ASK] Clip Automation (Clip Gain & Clip Pan) behaviour, Sonar X1 vs Sonar 8.5..??

in sonar 8.5 if im working in one track with 2 layer or more, it's very simple to add envelope... i can go right click n choose the envelope...after that i can work with the envelope in each clip individually..

in sonar X1 :
- i can't use right click for envelope now.
- so i use edit filter and choose for example clip automation >> clip gain, and it add envelope automatically in each clips.

I rename the two clips with A & B

My Problem / Question :
- i can only work/edit one clip (i think the last one that i record which is Clip B), although i point my mouse at clip A, it moves envelope in clip B and not in clip A. I've tried smart tool, lasso but still no luck. If i delete clip B then i can work the envelope in clip A.
- How is it to do it like in Sonar 8.5, where i can manage envelopes in each layered clip individually? it was so easy in sonar 8.5.
- Is this a bug or there is different method that i don't know how to do it?

Thanks in advance

I think this is a bug. I just posted about the same issue, asking for corroboration. Looks like I found it.

I recommend posting a bug report about this, telisonera.

    Hey guys,

Same problem here... I've been using clip enveloppes for a while now and am very frustrated by X1 and it's lack of it.

The instruction manual refers says that you can have clip envelopes but then only talks about using the clip fx bin to do it... (?!?).

"Audio effects can be automated by using clip envelopes."

Problem solved answer was here (link below), thanks Scott!

"Each track provides an Edit Filter control... you'll probably see it labeled Clips. Click that to select the type of data you would like to edit. When you choose Automation, SONAR will automatically create the type of envelope you choose."

Mat, I think that is a different issue to what Telisonera and I are talking about. This issue is not listed as fixed in X1b, as far as I can tell.

I was just told this is being fixed in X1B. I use clip automation all the time and it's a bit of a problem that I have to keep going back to 8.5 to use it. So far I'm liking X1 but, to relearn a program I used for years is not that fun when bug issues like this arise. I've used most of the top DAW's and honestly I still find X1 to be the best. I know all the small bugs will be fixed soon. ProTools (Avid) will ignore there users for years.
