AUD.INI

Hi all,
What is the purpose of the AUD.INI file?

Why is it that whenever anyone is having a problem with Sonar deleting the AUD.INI file seems to be the resolve all in most of the threads?

Not being a computer savy individual, where is this file located?

I have had some problems with my computer crashing using the Edirol dxi. Whenever I record two tracks using the Edirol dxi, I get a stuck not and the computer locks ups. I have been told to delete the AUD.INI file to see if this corrects the problem.

Can anyone help by answering the questions and make some suggestions?

My setup is a P4 2.8ghz, 1.5 gigs of ram. I use the Emu 0404 soundcard, which uses the ASIO drivers only.

Thanks,

    Start -> My Computer -> Local Disk C -> Program Files->Cakewalk->SONAR 4 * Edition

    *= Producer or Studio (depending on what you have)

    aud.ini is in that folder

    I might be completely wrong here...but....

    In most applications the .ini file is the dynamic configuration file, so, when you delete the file the application reverts back to it's original default configuration.

    heh..controls lots o stuff. too much to list.

    close sonar, delete the file, restart sonar, it will recreate the aud.ini , run ya thru the profiler...etc. Just like you installed it.

    Thanks everyone. I deleted the aud.ini file and it appears to have corrected the problem.
