AUDIO INTERFACE PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!

I have Sonar X1 Producer and im running it on a HP Pavilion Elite (64-bit) with Windows 7 with an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor (2.70 GHz) and 8 GB of RAM. I recently got a "M-audio Mobile Pre" interface because my previous set up wasnt working anymore. I installed the driver and tested it out. At first the latency was off but i adjusted it and i got it more on point. There's still a little popping because thats the best i could get it down too. So when i record i hear the popping and then i see the cpu meter's jump up either half way or all the way and it skips like a half a second. What could it be?????????

It sounds like you have your latency set lower than what your system can handle. RB

Search for the X1 aud.ini and rename it to aud.old.
Restart X1 so it is forced to build a new settings file ie a new aud.ini.

Then decide whether to use WKM or ASIO drivers.
    Certainly try both.
For some reason my DAW prefers ASIO but even 10ms latency is workable when recording - its not great but you can do it.

I have a similar AMD chip on this computer and was disappointed with the weird spiking of the CPU that caused a few weeks of whats causing that, m audio 2496 card. Here what worked Go to system configuration, then click start up tab, now click the disable all radio button. Reboot PC, it will look like windows 98 only it runs like a speed demon. Sonar should work as well as your interface, that spiking hopefully will of gone away, only with all those services off lots doesn't work. Now go back to system configuration/start/enable all services....reboot.....might work

@startekh: Idk it just says M-Audio MobilePre and the driver came on a CD that came with the interface. Idk what you mean by chipset driver for a board and the OS. @Rski: Where's the system configuration at?

I don't know if that's his motherboard or not, but that's definately the motherboard in my HP computer. I'm not having any problems running Sonar X1. I don't have a M-Audio Mobile Pre though.

Are you aware of any issues with this motherboard?
