A/V question for Scott (et. al.)
Well, I just picked up a cheap PC as a temporary measure since my last old box is failing fast. It hasn't changed my plans to get that "real" PC I've been designing with you (Scott), but it may solve some of the other issues since I can use this one for online abuse and keep the future PC more off the Net. The parts I'm most excited about with the new PC is that I FINALLY will have a Windows 7 Pro box to learn on. My question goes back to the A/V's you've recommended over time which are Microsoft's Security Essentials and eSet. I like what I've seen about eSet even though I had never heard of it before you mentioned it! I'm currently running Avast which has done a decent job, but the new box doesn't have anything on it yet and I think I'm going to get eSet for it. Are you running BOTH MSE and eSet at the same time? Or does eSet replace MSE? (I already realize that MSE replaces some of the other MS stuff like Defender.) Thanks!
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

Here's an informative site that tests and compares A/V products (no idea why Malwarebytes isn't represented though). It's nice to see reviews that aren't colored by a product's marketing department. AV Comparitives Organization Right now, a couple (including eSet) are looking pretty good, but I don't see the reason for having MSE on top.

Do you run spybot as needed or do you leave the real-time component on as well (Tea Timer)? I've yet to see Tea Timer do anything except slow my system down but, then again, I have a very slow system!

You can fire up Spybot as needed...

When I installed MSE I uninstalled Malwarebytes. I'm pretty sure that's part of Microsoft's instructions. JOhn

Windows Defender is what you are referring to not Malwarebytes. MSE includes an equivalent to Windows Defender. Malwarebytes is separate and not a Microsoft product.
