Hello, I also have Sonar X3 Producer, Windows 7 and an I7 Based PC along with the AW4416. The AW4416 is still a very great machine and was my introduction to digital mixers. Although I mostly only use it as a 8/16 track mixer in my home studio, sometimes I go out and take it to record jam sessions that I perform in with other musicians. It's those cases that I need to transfer the recorded wave files over to Sonar for mixing and mastering. I never liked the archaic post mixing and editing features on the AW4416 as it was quite time consuming as compared to post production on a DAW like Sonar. The method I use to transfer all tracks at once is a slightly time consuming process as:
1. On AW4416 burn a backup of song to disk.
2. On an old 32bit Windows XP machine, use AWExtract to extract the backed up wave files on the CD into individual files, one for each track.
3. From the old 32 bit Windows XP machine, I copy each file to a USB memory stick and then copy from the memory stick to the powerful Window 7 machine. You can copy by Ethernet also, but I don't put my old 32 bit Windows XP machine on my home network for various reasons but mostly added security.
4. In Sonar Producer, open a new song and import each track from the copied files as required and you should be good to go....
Hope you find this useful as this is payback for the many times this forum has helped me.
PS: AWExtract is quite old and as far as I know, it has never been updated to run on anything but the old 32bit Windows XP machines. Also AWExtract use to be free, but now I see various people are selling it for $10.00. To find it just type AWExtract in a search engine and be aware of hackers, adware/malware....
