Absynth

This is one of the many synths I've ignored. I decided to watch 3rd party tutorials on MacPro. This is a vert interesting synth with maybe too many options.

Sonar Platinum, W7 Pro 32GB Ram, Intel i7 4790, AsRock Z97 Pro 4,  NVidia 750ti, AP2496

Sonar Platinum, W7 Pro, 16GB Ram, AMD FX 6300, Gigabyte GA 970 -UD3 P, nVidia 9800GT, Guitar Port, Terratec EWX 2496

Absynth is a beast and there's a reason it keeps popping up on top synths list all the time. While it may at first seem daunting, once you get an understanding of how everything links together, then it's actually a intuitive synth to use for creating sounds.

I recommend getting any of The Unfinished's Absynth libraries and dig them apart. Matt is a frigging genius and I've learned quite a few things by just looking at what he's done. http://www.theunfinished.co.uk/shop/ :)

There's an old skool jungle sound that the Absynth absolutely nails. I've never know what the original synth is it emulates that sound.

I'd rather build my own. When they sound like crap for conventional music then I label them for cinematic or whatever.

I do have Unfinished for Massive where I get new patches all of the time.

Absynth is quite popular in the world of movie sound production. It does "atmosphere" like nothing else! I really wish it would get an update though, its interface does feel very outdated. I think for everyday music purposes though I prefer Massive. It's all there on one screen and its interface is extremely well designed.
