Acorn Masterkey 49 USB Keyboard Controller
I've just bought and installed an Acorn Instruments Masterkey 49 USB Keyboard controller so I thought I'd post here about it:-
I was after a small and cheap USB keyboard controller to fit into my rather tight studio, which is just a computer desk at the moment. I wasn't sure about the Acorn, mainly because it does not come with a driver. That could be a positive, but I had heard that some peeps had reported problems with their system.
I went ahead with the purchase anyway, knowing that Dawsons (my local music store) would take it back if there were any issues.
My system consists of an intel based laptop by CLEVO and it is currently running Windows 10. My DAW is Sonar Platinum and I use a Roland QUAD-CAPTURE USB sound device.
All is working well, I am pleased to say.
For £59, the current price, I really cannot grumble. I was not after an all bells and whistles controller like a Novation Launchkey for example, and the single slider and four rotary knobs are more than ample for my use.
The keyboard itself is fine, for the price paid. I would not expect to find weighted keys and aftertouch is something I do not use.
Response seems to be okay.
Overall, a good, cheap, no frills keyboard controller.
