Acoustic amp suggestions

I had a older /used Crate acoustic amp for a while and sold it off. I am interested in getting a new one - small to meduim size just for home studio use / practice. I would like to hear what models you guys / girls like. I am trying to hit that middle ground between price, and on-board features /fx. That Crate seemed to have a lot of idle hiss to it - I think some companies have reduced that quite a bit.

Thanks

You might be well off to just get an active generic ( self powered ) P.A. speaker. You don't mention a budget.... but you can get a lot of other uses out a of a pair or even a single unit. Usable for general listening ( hook up a CD player ), use it for monitors, small P.A.  whatever. You can get a pair of Behringers fairly cheap for a pair or go with MAckies / JBL / or if you want to stay really low budget wise...you can go with harbinger or gemini. Take a look at Musicians Friend. Secondarily you can get decent acoustic pre amps in stomp box form to go into the self powered P.A.

I play a ton of acoustic guitar in my band.  I tried everything I could get my hands on, and though expensive, I couldn't find anything that sounded as good as the Fishman amps.  They sound great at bedroom volume AND at full-tilt stage volume.

I settled on the Loudbox Performer 120, but the Loudbox 100 is very compact and sounds the same....just doesn't compete with the live band as well....although it's strikingly loud when you need it to be.
