Activation PEBCAK Error

I've seen a few posts with activation woes so I thought I'd share mine. I am hoping it will be somewhat cathartic.
 
I downloaded the Braintree update, fired up Sonar and got a message that in 2 days it would revert to demo mode. Oh no! What to do? Of course I restarted Sonar and Command Center, logged in and out a few times, and then browsed the forums. I found a few posts with what (I thought) were similar issues. I was wrong.
 
It wasn't easy to find it in My Account, but somehow I ended up on a page telling me to authorize the monthly payment in PayPal. Oops. Silly me. I switched to a credit card and like magic the message went away!
 
So what's that to do with a PEBCAK error? PEBCAK is an acronym:
