These guys have been a massive inspiration to me since I was a very young lad. It's really, really sad. R.I.P. Adam Yauch - thank you for all the great music!

RIP Adam, my thoughts go out to his family and friends. I was never a huge Beastie Boys fan, but I did take my then girlfriend to see them back in 1987 with Public Enemy and Murphy's Law (anyone remember them) at the New Haven Coliseum. It's was right after the Beastie Boys really broke into the public eye with "Licensed to Ill" which Rolling Stone reviewed with the headline "Three idiots create a masterpiece". Was never really my cup of tea, but my girlfriend loved it so - well you know.

I kept meaning to post this yesterday, and then, when no one else did, I thought I must be the only one who noticed... The soundtrack to a very large portion of my life at many different stages. Very sad.
