Add 1-click chord creator to Step Sequencer

How about having some buttons in each row to turn a single note into at least a triad (3-note) chord? So at the least the 1st button would be M for major, while the 2nd button would be m for minor. Possibly there could be a 3rd button (7) for seventh. The presumption is the note selected is the root. But there could even be another button (2) that would transpose the chord, making the current note become the 2nd note in the chord. And what about a (3) button that would make the current note the top note of the 3-note chord? And to make it 'simple', the look of the notes showing in the grid would not require the new notes to show...unless the composer decides to get more complex and turn the chord into say, a 1-2-5 vs. a 1-3-5. In such a scenario, a button could be pressed to 'convert' the created chord into single notes on the grid that the composer could then manually edit to make the chord adhere to the complex chord. Meanwhile my Boss DR-5 drum machine, which is at least a decade old, has this sort of feature, so shouldn't this request be something that could appear much easier in the software realm?

It's good to know there are options outside of the Cakewalk family for adding chords, but I really am lobbying for functionality that is a part of the existing step sequencer. Cakewalk likes to believe it has the best software out, and, fortunately, I can name many reasons why that is true. However, there's always room for making one's workflow more efficient, so Cakewalk should commit resources to this.
