Addictive Drum Problem (Fixed itself)
It's a really odd problem. I can get no output from the Hi-Hats. All the other drums are working fine and going to their assigned outputs, but not the hats. I also notice that in the AD mixer there is no hat output to the master buss while all the other drums do. I checked all the settings and compared them to the others and I tried to load a different sample. Nothing happening in terms of output. The meters in the AD mixer say the sample is triggering, but not going anywhere.

That sounds very strange - I've been using Addictive Drums basically since it first came out and I've never experienced something like that - it sounds as if there is no sample loaded but how that could happen I have no idea - have you tried contacting their support people - I've always found them pretty good

The hi-hats go through your overheads so make sure you are sending your overheads to a separate track and that it is not muted (and that your overhead level in the AD mixer is not too low).

The hi hat has it's own channel as well as going to the bus.
When you hit the hi hat picture, do you see the meter move?

Yes, I have the output enabled and everything but the hats is working. I've contacted their tech support via email. Waiting a few days with no response, much like an email to Cakewalk.

How about the correct drum map? I noticed on some GM files the kick drum doesn't work until I set the drum map for GM.

The reason I ask is you didn't mention is it happening when you play the beats in AD or are you triggering from a midi drum track?

I understand the hi-hat track meters are moving but your not hearing the hats?

Yes, all the meters move except the output meters. I'm triggering AD directly from the interface and have tried the master output and the individual track outputs.
If I hear nothing from XLN this week I'll just forget it and go back to BFD 2.

Hi AmpFixer, Sorry to hear that you're still fighting this issue. You probably have already checked the following, but just double checking When you add AD as a multi-track instrument - the 5th item should have been HiHat output.  and when you check it's assignment it should look something like this (note the track #'s don't match the other images because this is a screen shot from different Sonar project)  With these settings (including having the output turned on in the AD plug-in GUI) you should you HiHat output  ...Steven

Maybe the plug-in just glitched on loading and is now stuck in that config. Did you try loading a different kit and seeing if it has the same issues?  Or inserting another instance of AD into your project and see if it had the same problem? ...Steven

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions. I deleted the plug from the project and inserted a new instance. Now it's working fine again. Loading new samples or entire kits within the plug didn't make it better so I didn't think delete and replace would help, but it did. :P
