Addictive Drums 2 Crashing Platinum

For some reason, Additive Drums is crashing Platinum. I can’t figure out why. I have not always had this problem. One day, I got a red banner saying my “trial time” was up for Additive Drums. Hum. B.S. Then it would just crash. I have attempted all the remedies that have already been discussed here. Running as Admin, reinstalling AD and I even changed the compatibility to WIN 8. I then got the computer id error. When (in the millionth try) it would load, it will crash in the middle of a session which makes the issue MORE frustrating, then it wouldn’t load again and crash that application.

Now, I’ve noticed that when I attempt to load AD, there is a window at the top that says “processing tracks,” then a prompt comes up and says “SONARPLT.exe has stopped working.” Noticing this, I tried a new approach. In Platinum, if you select “New Project,” it loads automatically with an audio and MIDI track. So, I decided to DELETE those tracks and try to install AD. Wow, it worked and loaded AD! Was that the issue??? I attempted the same approach again…nope, it crashed.

Here is the real funny part. I bought Cakewalk’s Home Studio, loads up just fine. No issue and works as long as I need it too.
I can’t believe I’m the only one who is having this issue, either that, or no one is using AD for their projects. Seeing that others have encountered this and seemingly resolved this gives me both hope and confusion. I don’t believe its an issue with WIN 10 or my computer and I have 12GB of RAM. It seems to me there is an issue with how Platinum is managing memory for AD. I have no issues with any other plugins.

Any ideas or help would be great. I wouldn’t mind hearing from the application engineers about this issue.

Intel i5 as 2.67Ghz,
12 GB RAM,
WIN 10 64bit

I can try to help you, if you want, but I suggest contacting XLN Audio's support and looking through their knowledgebase.

Good advice Telecharge.  I had some other types of issues with AD2 and the support team at XLN Audio was extremely helpful. Their response time was amazing!

Very interesting EJ Kelley....I get the same error message and ONLY when I am working with AD2. I have Sonar Platinum and I am running 16 RAM. I am not sure what is going on. I was going to contact XLN myself. Getting frustrated with making drum patterns (not complex) and SONAR shutting down. At first I thought maybe I had too many tracks going on so I started using a couple of Platinum's templates and still had the issue of the error. Sometimes it would take awhile for the crash other times almost immediately. I have only been at the SONAR game for a little while. Still learning. I have some songs that I want to record but, I don't want to get into them too far until I figure out the crash and get a bit more "learning" done.
