Addictive Drums 2 Update (bug for ProTools in 2.1.2 fixed)
Here's the email from XLN Audio:
Dear AD2 user,
This Monday (June 8), we released an AD2 update (2.1.2) that contained a bug affecting Pro Tools users.
We have already issued a fix to this problem, but please take a moment to read through this email so you can avoid running into any problems in the future.
The issue: Pro Tools recognizes AD2 using a specific ID number, which unfortunately was incorrect in our 2.1.2 update. Due to this error, Pro Tools will not recognize version 2.1.2 when trying to load previously saved Pro Tools sessions that used earlier versions of AD2 (2.1.1 or before).
To our knowledge, this only affects Pro Tools users and other DAWs should not be affected by this issue.
The fix: We believe we have addressed this issue and have issued an AD2 update (version 2.1.3) that is now available through our XLN Online Installer.
IMPORTANT: Before you update to version 2.1.3, please note that any Pro Tools sessions saved with the problematic version of AD2 (2.1.2) will not load AD2 when you update to the fixed version (2.1.3). If you have spent time tweaking your drum sounds in AD2 (v 2.1.2) and saved your Pro Tools session, please load up those Pro Tools sessions and use the "Save Preset" function in AD2 to save your tweaks. That way, when you update to 2.1.3, you can load AD2 and recall your saved presets. This will save you time since you won’t have to recreate your presets.
How to Update: As far as we know, this bug is specific to Pro Tools but we recommend all users update to AD2 version 2.1.3 as soon as possible.
You can do this by simply running the XLN Online Installer. Our Online Installer will handle the rest of the update seamlessly.
We really hate software bugs, especially ones that interrupt the music! Please accept our apologies and do get in touch with our
support team here if you have any questions, thoughts or feedback.
