I explained it quite clearly: You write the MIDI in the Piano Roll or you use a MIDI controller or e-drums to record the MIDI. That's how all soft synths work.
The scenario where you say you get audio on a track without record-button is a misunderstanding
(if I understood your description correctly).. The waveform you see is the audio preview, which has got nothing to do with recorded audio, which at that time does not even exist. The audio file is created when you bounce to tracks or freeze the synth, before that there's only MIDI.
By "getting audio on the trac", do you mean a waveform or just meters moving. The meters move quite similarily on a MIDI track indicating MIDI traffic, even though no audio is involved.
The recording in AD2 using your MIDI-keyboard should be just as simple as recording in Kontakt, which you did succesfully.
