Addictive Drums 2 and Mbox 3

Hello and thanks in advance for any help.  I'm running X3e and I recently just upgraded my interface from a ua25ex to a Mbox3. I've loaded AD2 into sonar With all drums on a seperate track. I can hear the drums and See the audio in each individual track. The problem I'm having is when I try to record from it nothing is recorded in the midi track.  If I insert an audio track and select AD2 as the input I get audio into the track but the  record button is now missing and the track is changed to an midi track.

I've tried changing the input in the Midi track to  All Inputs: Midi Omni
                                                                     Mbox external: Midi Omni
                                                                     Mbox control: Midi Omni

with no sound being recorded for each setting.

I can load up an instance of Kontakt 5 and use my midi keyboard to record with no issues
I tried searching the forums for the info but this new setup is confusing.

Also if someone could point me to where you DL track templates and Drump Maps it would be appreciated.

My systems is 8.1prowmc  12gigs ram  amd8350 Sonar x3e with Komplete 9ulti

    some more info to add.

If I create a simple instrument track for Kontakt and arm Kontakt and the original AD2 track folder to record. Midi data from the keyboard will be recorded into the Kontakt Track and also the AD2 Track but If I only arm the AD2 track No data will be recorded.

I can drag and drop the midi file from AD2 into the midi track and it plays just fine. My only issue is trying to record directly into the midi track from AD2.

If I create a simple instrument track for AD2 I get sound. If I hit record the meters are moving indicating that sound is present but the sound doesnt record into the track
      Hope this helps

What puzzles me is your writing:" When I try to record from it..". What does that mean? There is no way to record directly anything from AD2, not MIDI nor audio.
It makes me assume you're trying to record by running/clicking the loops and kitpieces in AD2 user interface.
You can not record anything that way. You need to  feed in the MIDI data either with a MIDI controller or e-drums, or by inserting the pattern in Piano Roll, or, most obviously, by dragging the loops from AD to the MIDI track, as you've already done.
Then you can freeze or bounce to tracks in order to get an audio track (which is not necessary, after all).

EDIT: I missed some additional info of your second post, sorry.

What I mean by saying "when I try to record from It" is that I armed the midi track for recording.

So basically you are saying the only way to record from AD2 is to drag the midi file from ad2 to the midi track?
what if I want to create a custom midi beat for the loaded kit. How are you suppose to do that?

I explained it quite clearly: You write the MIDI in the Piano Roll or you use a MIDI controller or e-drums to record the MIDI. That's how all soft synths work.
The scenario where you say you get audio on a track without record-button is a misunderstanding (if I understood your description correctly).. The waveform you see is the audio preview, which has got nothing to do with recorded audio, which at that time does not even exist. The audio file is created when you bounce to tracks or freeze the synth, before that there's only MIDI.
By "getting audio on the trac", do you mean a waveform or just meters moving. The meters move quite similarily on a MIDI track indicating MIDI traffic, even though no audio is involved.

The recording in AD2 using your MIDI-keyboard should be just as simple as recording in Kontakt, which you did succesfully.
