Addictive Drums 2 and V Drums

Ok, Ive got X3e with the AD2 update.   I also have Superior Drummer 2. When I play my snare drum in SD2 it triggers all of the snare open hits, shallow hits, rimshots, etc. In AD2 no matter where I hit my snare head I only get "open hit" and "rimshot".  It's similar to the old school alesis modules. I have the drum mapping set to "Roland TD-8" which is my drum set. As you can see, I'm always shown how little I know about midi. Just when I think I'm getting a handle on it............What am I doing wrong. Thanks in advance...... Mike
