Awesome! I can't wait to see what they do. EZ2 looks very impressive, but I will probably upgrade both.

I sold my EZ....I still have lite...
I'll pick 2 up on sale some time, but AD2.... I can't wait to see what's new...I know they don't mess around... Will be an interesting "Comparison"
I do love the song construction in EZKeys...so that would be my main motivation to get EZD2...

Looks like it will be a $79 upgrade??? If so, I think I am going to have to wait and compare apples.

For me the best thing about EZ2 is the tap to find feature. I love the idea of getting a basic beat (close to what I want) and then changing the kit and midi a piece at a time. I hate screwing around with the piano roll and won't miss it a bit.

I wonder if we, as X3 customers will get the 50% discount? Either way I'm excited to see what XLN brings to the table...

The Edit play style feature in EZ2 is what I meant to say instead of tap to find...which is also cool. I have 7 or 8 ezx's and only the basic set in AD so I'll be upgrading EZ2 first, but I do like AD as well.

That's a mighty impressive graphic. Any place where a hint of the features might be published or are they waiting for EZ2 to come out before they write their specs down?
As requested, a hint of the features at the website below. The key word here, of course is hint. http://addictivedrums2.com/
When will Addictive Drums 2 be available?Mark your calendars! Addictive Drums 2 will be available May 13, 2014!
What are the key features of Addictive Drums 2? Why should I upgrade from the original Addictive Drums?Addictive Drums 2 has tons of user-requested features as well as a few surprises from the team at XLN Audio! There are too many changes to list here, but the high-level changes can be summarized as follows: 1) Lots of exciting new sound-shaping features. 2) Lots of new tools for finding and transforming beats. 3) Freedom to choose only the content that matters to you.
We will publish a more detailed list as we get closer to launch.
But wait, I just bought Addictive Drums! Not to worry! We have a generous grace period for recent buyers:
If you purchased Addictive Drums on or after March 1st 2014, you will get a FREE upgrade to AD2.
If you purchased Addictive Drums in January or February of 2014, you will get a 50% discount for the upgrade.
Information will be automatically mailed to you when Addictive Drums 2 launches so make sure your contact information in your XLN Account is up to date!
How much will it cost? The upgrade will cost $79.
Will Addictive Drums (v1) be discontinued? We will no longer sell Addictive Drums (v1) after May 13, 2014. However, we will continue providing support for Addictive Drums v1 for the time being. Owners of Addictive Drums v1 can still purchase ADpaks (for version 1) until the end of 2014.
When I get the new version, can I still open older sessions with Addictive Drums (v1) in them?Of course! Addictive Drums 2 is completely independent from Addictive Drums (v1) and your existing installation will not be affected in any way. In other words, you can open up old projects with Addictive Drums (v1) and work as you always have in the past. You can even have projects that contain both Addictive Drums v1 and v2 in the same session, in case you don't want to change anything in an existing session.
Will I be able to use my ADpaks in Addictive Drums 2?When you upgrade to Addictive Drums 2, you get updated versions of all of your existing ADpaks in the new Addictive Drums 2 format for free! All of the presets in the "v2" ADpaks have been updated to make good use of the Addictive Drums 2 engine. We hope they will feel fresh and new again and that you'll have fun re-discovering your existing ADpaks.
What are the system requirements? The system requirements for Addictive Drums 2 are exactly the same as those for Addictive Keys, with one exception: we will no longer support the old RTAS format for Pro Tools (we do support the newer Pro Tools AAX format in both 32 and 64-bit).

This is going to be interesting, I'm not sure that I can do both AD2 and EZD2; it's going to depend on how they are priced. I read the new SOS on my iPad on the flight home tonight and there is a really good article on EZD2 as one of its feature articles. Infact, it's the cover shot of SOS for May. Very high marks from the 2 SOS guys that reviewed EZD2.
Larry, they also had an article on the new ATH50x headphones......high praises.

I'm hot to get EZDrummer 2 first. That UI is reminiscent of EZKeys which I'm pretty fond of right now. Maybe I'll wait for the Christmas sale for AD2.

I just got an email reply (Nick) from XLN confirming that X3 customers WILL get the free upgrade (if you bought X3 after March 1st). Although I didn't ask about those that bought X3 in Jan & Feb, I'm sure they'll offer that 50% discount to them. I've heard very good things about XLN's customer service and if you bought it before 2014, it wouldn't hurt to just email them and ask about a discount.........worst case is they'll say no.

This is a great thing for us! Having AD and EZD both trying to present the best product. Love it. The EZD2 video I watched made it a must have here. I struggle with drums all the time, mainly because I get bored quickly with all the work I need to put into the drum portion of the song and I don't really have a strong passion to hang in there to get it great. EZ drummer 2 looks like it streamlines that process which leaves me with hope that my drum tracks improve and my time to get them improved maybe even decreases.

While I don't think I'm "addicited" to AD I like em' a lot. It'll be interesting to see what is coming. For me personally it would be nice to see more drum endings/beginnings and partial fills...actually more loops altogether. Midi takes up a small footprint. Never can have too much IMO.

Just saw that JRRshop has Addictive Drums and an AD Pak for $129.00. If you use the coupon code 'group' it reduces the cost to about $109. Not a bad deal for Full AD and an AD Pak plus you will get a free update to AD2.

I have pretty much decided to go upgrade to ADD2, but with only a splash screen ad and some pricing info, I am a little nervous that they may be pushing the app out to not lose people to EZD2. I hope it is ready for market.

I appreciate the approach that XLN is taking on this. They gave us a heads-up, a brief idea of what new features might be, an opportunity to sign up for updates about the product release, and a basic release date vs. hyping with all the hoop-la and boog-a-boo that other vendors practice. I am looking forward to the release and doing the upgrade isn't even a question for me. I like their stuff, service, and support.

Also +1 from me - always had superb service from XLN and as a very long time Addictive Drums user shall upgrade without any doubt - and when you see what some other vendors get up to, yes they have it right, the likes of IK and Sonoma (Drum Core) most definitely have it very wrong. Nigel
