Addictive Keys and Nectar Elements

I got an email from Audio deluxe with a bunch of their recent end of year offers. I happened to notice that they have a combo deal Addictive Keys and Nectar Elements offered as a combo for under 99 clams. Actually the deal is less than that .I know I can buy Addictive Keys for as little as 60 without Nectar from another vendor.

I have been curious about Nectar but I never jumped on it. Wondered if anyone here has used Nectar and likes what it does. If both were good I might be more prone to  jump on the combo deal. I do a fair amount of vocal recording and I have Melodyne already.

I haven't used Addictive Keys but I like what I read about it. There seems to be a lot of flexibility in the sound and the sounds by all accounts are realistic. I still haven't found a piano I really like so much I go to it all the time and I have quite a few. Most of my Kontakt pianos don't stand up well in a mix. Some of the Sampletekk pianos work for me sometimes but sometimes not. Still looking for a piano I can be totally happy with.

Starise - I can't comment about this particular bundle personally, but I've read from others in the forum that they've been pleasantly satisfied with the features of both.

I can comment on the following points, however.  I did get Addictive Keys and along with what seems to the opinion of everyone else who has commented on it, I'm extremely pleased with its piano sound.  One of the most satisfying buys I've made.  (Well, it was discounted very nicely as well at the time).

I also have the full version of Nectar, which is Nectar 2.  Very nice capabilities. I saved up for a different bundle (took me a while to save for it), and obtained the iZotope Studio Bundle, which contains Nectar 2.  Absolutely thrilled about the software contained in that bundle.  Really satisfied.  I think that bundle has enabled me to get much closer to the quality of the mix that I'm striving for.

Just want to add that I see Melodyne and Nectar 2 as a great 1-2 punch to knock vocals out of the park.  Melodyne obviously has horsepower to do so many things to help vocals (and other things).  Nectar 2 is great for adding all kinds of touches to the vocals - and there are a lot of presets that make it super easy.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

    Thanks for your comments lawajava.

I seen that at one time in the not too distant past they were giving away Nectar elements for free. Then I seen it for 29.95 on a back search. I have seen some really cool vocal work in harmonies with Melodyne, so to be honest Nectar would be something I might use but then again maybe not. I kept all of my past plug-ins so I still have V-vocal too. I'm not really sure how much I would use it. We also have a nice vocal plug as part of X-3 Producer  that does deessing ,doubling, etc. kind of an all around good vocal plug in.

For some reason I tend to buy things separately so I had Alloy 2 and the two most recent Ozones. I guess I never seen the package deal. I did the same thing with NI. Instead of buying Komplete I have Reactor and Kontakt and Their drums etc. Things just seem to go that way for me. I see a deal for a separate item, buy it, and then in a few months they offer some kind of a package deal.Although I can't say I have over paid doing it that way.

Addicitve Keys is another story. It sounds like something I would use and it sounds like a good product.

Well I placed an order for this but apparently a lot of the company was off over the holiday. At least their website support email says as much. So I'm not rolling with it yet .

I have the Addictive installer from adding the Addictive drums. The installer says I have Addictive keys but I can't find it or play it.All I have is the free version of their grand with those limitations. I really want to try this out but can't arrrgg.

I'm glad I ordered this product. Addictive keys has a very capable a good sounding piano in it.

I didn't get a chance to try Nectar yet.

IMHO, AK sounds far better then EZKeys.  However, EZKeys has far better MIDI and songwriting capabilities...
I'm glad I have both.  Writing is fun with EZKeys, and I can get different sounding Pianos, etc, using all
my available options - AK, EZK, and all the pianos that came with Komplete 9 (a lot LOL).

I'm pretty well covered in the Keyboard Dept. LOL

Nectar Elements has some good capabilities also, and I'm sure the full version is even better.
I still prefer Melodyne for "tuning" but, for FREE, NE is nice...

I agree Dub, I certainly wasn't expecting what I got, especially for free.

Glad to hear that Elements is a pretty good program. I don't think I'll be sorry for going with this deal. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to even download it from the site yet but hopefully soon I'll get the chance.

Heads up- Audio Deluxe is adding yet another title to this deal for the same price. AK+Elements+Mellow.

Since I had already placed my order I asked them if I still qualified and I did. You also get something calle UVI Mellow. I don't really know what it is. Looks like an even better combo deal though. Not sure how much longer it runs.

Maybe I am mistaken, but I was under the impression that EZ keys was more of a program for people who don't play keys. Comes with midi patterns etc. The way I seen it EZ keys is like the AAS guitars but maybe I'm wrong here. I haven't even looked seriously at midi loops in AK. I seen there were some midi preview things that I figured were just there for sound inspection.

    Hi Dub

I downloaded Mello Last evening. You no longer need an ilok to use it. You do need to download the ilok software but no hardware required. The registration is on my computer.

I love Mello.Nothing sounds quite like a Mellotron. It requires the installation of the UVI player and you jump through a couple of registration hoops. I feel like it is an excellent program. I had tried UVI a long time ago and I wasn't impressed at that time because it wasn't very efficient on my computer. Things have gone the other way now and UVI is spunky and light.
