Addictive Keys
I keep seeing the words "Buy This" (or some such words as those) when I preview various features of XLN's Addictive Keys. I thought that the entire thing with all features was packaged with Sonar Platinum. ON the Cakewalk Command Center I see nothing Suggesting that it is even installed, yet it is is one of the VST2 instruments. Can someone please help clear the confusion.

Uhhhh Addictive Keys is NOT Addictive Drums. Addictive Keys was not included in Paltinum. Addictive Drums 2 was. If you have Addictive Keys on you system you got some other way, IMO.

Hi- Did you install a demo of Addictive Keys at some point? Addictive Drums is included with SPlat, but Addictive Keys is a separate product. -Susan

I am quite sure that Addictive Keys was packaged with something I installed so yes AK was installed. Maybe it came with Nectar Elements. It was not, to my recollection, a Demo program. Then again, I don't think the entire package was included. That may be the source of confusion.

Any "Buy Now" verbiage suggests you have a demo installed. Nectar Elements was a free promotion given to XLN customers (as a precursor to Nectar 2's release initially). I *believe* you picked up NE from that due to owning AD1 packaged with X3. The best way to verify is to open "XLN Online Installer" and check your products listing. It is most likely listed as a "DEMO" there. IIRC, the demo versions of their products pop up with their online installer, so if you selected everything it installed the demo for you. Addictive Keys is a piano-based VST, and typically runs some significant discounts if you do not own it (at one point I believe it was on sale for $29 but is most often like half price these days). You can also open the program itself to check it (either stand alone or within SONAR), as it should tell you if it is a demo.

Thanks Mike The XLN Installer shows Addictive Keys to be "Up To Date". The word DEMO is not used. Directly below on the Installer list is Studio Grand (DEMO) also designated "Up To Date"! By the way Addictive Drums 2 is also shows "Up To Date" but the Fairfax part of it is marked DEMO. Doesn't make as lot of sense to this guy; but, I guess I learned a different version of the English language ... one that some do not recxognize. Just to amplify the confusion, I just re-opened Addictive Keys. Modern Upright, Mark One as well as Electric Grand all suggest (Buy it Now). Studio Grand has the word DEMO attached to it. As I look into the issue I begin to wonder ... even though the Installer says everything is up to date ... maybe not everything is registered. I have no idea on earth where the registration code is located. I would think it is somewhere within to the XLN Installer but I don't see it there. I'm told in the registration dialog that it is on the receipt. What receipt is still an unanswered question! Maybe registration is automatic as I think is suggested someplace maybe in the Registration and Installation Manual.

I think the "Addictive Keys" and "Addictive Drums" entries are the engines themselves. The hyphenated entries below them are pianos/kits respectively. For me, I have Addictive Keys, but still have the demo of AD2 installed... that entry shows "Addictive Drums 2" up to date" but the entry below it is "- Fairfax Vol. 1 DEMO" which is also up to date. If you have SONAR Platinum, you should also have a redemption code to use on the XLN site to get the Platinum offers. Your Addictive Keys seems like it is an installation of the Studio Grand demo which was probably listed in the installer as an available item (since it is free, but limited use).
