Adding outputs to an instantiated instrument

Is there a way to add extra outputs to a VSTi that's already been instantiated in the project?

e.g. Say I load Kontakt as a simple instrument track to use the first two outputs for a sound - but later in the project I want to use more sounds separated to different outputs in Kontakt. Can I then enable the outputs somehow or do I have to add another instance of Kontakt to enable all outputs?

Yea, if the VSTi is able to have more outputs. You just configure the VSTi to output more channels. Each VSTi (soft synth) will have different ways to do this. I wouyld refer to Kontacts help files to see how its done for that plugin

    Cheers, CJ.

It wasn't quite what I meant but I figured it out (just adding more audio tracks and setting the input from the numerous Kontakt outputs). Sounds simple but I never figured it out before. A true 'duh'moment :)
