Advice please. (After CCleaner things bootup slower)

So after many trials with vsts, I think I've settled on what I want to keep. So I downloaded and ran CCleaner to clean up the registry. Sonar now loads slower than before so I'm wondering if I need to re-install the registry changes (it was backed up in my documents) or, I have the whole os backed up a couple of times with paragon software. If I do the later I would have to re-install most of my software and backup my projects to my external drive. Everything seems to work fine its just slower. Any tips?

What boots up slower? The computer, Sonar....? Do you have your Sonar set to scan the VSTs on startup? Need more information on what exactly is slower.

I would re-install the registry changes first. If that fixes the problem, then you know that the problem was caused by the registry cleaner. If not, it was something else.

I suppose there is a chance that CCleaner deleted something it thought was trash, when it really wasn't.  I've always had good success with CCleaner myself.  Fingers Crossed.

Ya know Daveny5 may be right about the scan vst thing. After CCleaner I had to redo a lot of things. My projects are saved to one hard drive but it changed that to my C (os) drive. I hate to do much to it when everything seems to be working. Sonar is what is loading slower, but it's still less than a minute.

I suppose there is a chance that CCleaner deleted something it thought was trash, when it really wasn't.

Among other things that are considered trash are various "cache" files. The most well known of these are in the internet cache where copies of web pages are kept, so that when you visit that website again, the page is loaded from your hard drive instead of being downloaded from the web. Deleteing those (which CCleaner will do by default in a cleanup) will give you more disk space but slow things down a bit if you are accessing those pages in a web browser. It may be that something like that is involved here.

My projects open up timewise, according to size, amounts of plugs etc,but Iv'e used ccleaner all along,so I don't know if that in itself,is slowing the opening of projects

Projects with lots of waves plugins, seem to open slowly,or take longer for me

What I don't like is that "Defraggler",and Explorer, show my HDD is 30GB more used,i.e. less space, than an old thing called "Windirstat",which shows, and makes it possible to delete, almost anything[!!!],but I like that,it always shows,I have more space, than what the others do

    Which one is real though?
    Bob.

It depends on how it calculates a kilobyte. Technically a kilobyte is 1024 bytes (2 to the 10th power). Some programs consider it 1000 bytes.
