After ten years - a newly recorded Geronimo Cowboy tune.
It's been ten years since me and Mike Vlahakis have recorded anything together. A few months back I got an e-mail from Mike asking if I wanted to do another album. So, we just finished ten songs. Mike wrote the lyrics, sang, played bass guitar and the keys - I wrote the music and played guitar on this one. I'm not sure how many of these tunes I'll post - probably a few - the first one is called "Give It A Whirl". https://soundcloud.com/us...614552/give-it-a-whirl

I really like this Mark - nice n sleazy. I've got a cold at the moment (man flu) so my ears ain't what they'd usually be but I think I can hear clipping - maybe rein in the final master a tad?

Thanks daryl - appreciate the comment - appreciate you taking the time. I don't mix these tunes - Mike does - so if there's clipping - then I can't do anything about it. Thanks again.

firts off, I have listened to many of the GC songs, (p.s. on this day in 1886 Geronimo was forced to give up the gig, see the link below if interested) https://www.history.com/t...ry/geronimo-surrenders you are a very good guitar player, it is all very tasty and not over indulgent. you also have a very wide palette and never seem to repeat yourself. Not to many guitarists can have that talent. The songs are well thought out with a meaning, nothing just thrown together, I can tell you took your time. The folks you work with bring the goods too, it is a solid effort alll around. for me though, the guitar playing is the best part, it bolsters the songs but leaves lots of space for everyone else to find a place and present a cohesive presentation, you and the band should be proud!

I liked Mark, I agree with Daryl there are some tweaks needed in the mix but the feel and groove come through and sometimes that is all you really need. Nice one

Jesse - thank you my friend - appreciate it. Wookiee - Thanks for the comment. I don't have anything to do with the mix on these - so, it is what it is. Thanks again. Mark

Mark, Nice and raunchy cowboy guitar tune you got here. I like the way you veer into dissonance on the solo. Cool, raw stuff. No crits- it sounds like you got what you were going for. Cheers, Bert

Hey Mark! great to hear you guys are back at it and BUSY! nice guitar work! I agree with Daryl I'm hearing some clipping distortion throughout the mix performances - vox, guitars, keys, all great stuff!

I like the "in your face" mix - very raunchy. I especially enjoyed the organ - that sounds excellent in this song. Good rockin' tune - nice job guys.

I used to own a money clip. That was the good kind of clipping, IMO. The song is cool. Love that dissonant guitar at 2:20ish. Tre cool.

I almost missed this one. I'm glad I caught it. I like the nice raw sound to this. The vocals are doggone good and the organ is a nice touch but your guitar playing really carries this song. Nice one lads.
