Ahhhh NUTS -Buying x1 essencial for son

Hi
Long time 12 tone/cakewalk/sonar user and now my son is getting in on the act.  I want him to use sonar so we can talk the same language.  Went into the cakewalk store and can only find uograde prices...i.e. $60 for SONAR and SONAR Home Studio Customers  ... $80 for and Registered Cakewalk customers.  Does this mean if Sean buys ANY Cakewalk products then we fork out $80 to upgrade to X1???  Eg Cakewalk Session Drummer 2 Download for $10????  OR is there a clean buy option for SONAR X1 that I am missing???

    You could buy Sonar X1 LE direct from the Cakewalk Store, only 49 GBP or whatever that translates too for you and then there are upgrade options if you need them in the future.

    yeah, it looks like they want you to either buy X1 LE and upgrade from there or if you're a "new customer" you are supposed to buy it from a retailer.

    I agree with you that this seems very odd marketing, I think I would also make it available for purchase as a new customer from the e-store.  but they don't ask me my opinion...

    Just bought Essencial for my son and then within weeks they come out with the special Zeta offer....sometimes my timing sucks...
