I really like this, I really like the way that dobro comes in and the whole rhythm seems to shift when everything kicks in, that's a neat trick. This is a nice mix too. I can hear everything very clearly. nice harmonica accents, and that guy is a good singer.

as ever the playing is beyond reproach Frank! all instruments sound great, other than the drums which sound too over-compressed compared to the rest of the mix for me.

It's more country than rockabilly....not enough slapback.
nice playing.   I think the vocals are not sitting in the mix where they need to be....too out front IMO.

Oh yeah, this is great Frank! Love that harmonica tone - sounds like a bullet mic through a Vox..bet I'm wrong about that Jeremy can sing eh? I might wetten that voice up just a smidge, but that's a nit-pick really.

Very cool indeed!  Great performance by all.  Ya'll have managed to combine gospel/country/Piedmont Blues/rockabilly and made it work wonderfully.  I kind of like the vocals up front --- to me, it gives the mix kind of a retro taste.

Frank this is killer !!! Had My toe tapping right of the bat... I like it.. The only thing crit worth mentioning is, the snare seems to be a touch lifeless...I think some one above mentioned that there may be a bit too much compression on the drums.. I'll have to agree... the rest of the production is great.. The song is very good... :-)

This is quite a pleasant listen but I do agree the drums sound a little lack luster.

Thanks Tim, but that's no Dobro... I used my National Reso-Rocket tuned to an open E... it has a convex resonator witha biscuit bridge (National style), instead of the concave resonator with a spider bridge used on my Dobro...

I used an old Sure 545 plugged into a tweed Champ amp for the harp... and for drums, Session Drummer 2 or  3... whichever came bundled with Sonar Producer 8.5... I hardly ever use real drums anymore...  unless I absolutely have to...

Thanks to everyone who listened, and especially everyone that commented on the tune...

    Hi Frank,

Great mix and playing.  No crits from me...just enjoying the tune.

My favorite part is the first 10 seconds...man, that is just the real thing!

I would love to hear this ( or any song by you ) with just the vocal, the National and the harp.

    I love that sound...

Your slide work has inspired me to work out with the slide.  I used to play steel guitar in another life, I remember that being easier than slide guitar.  So I'm very impressed with how you are so darn good at everything.  I imagine there must be some offsetting feature about you, like maybe you can't tie your shoes which would be a small price to pay for all your other skills!  Sign me up for some of that as I like slip-on shoes in my old age anyways.

The vocals seem a little loud compared to the instruments, but that a small crit on a very enjoyable tune.

Well!  Finally a song with some message for my ears to latch onto.

Simple country-Christian-rock.  My complex nature questions the hook "Ain't the Same" ... a southern saying I guess ... that I'm learning.

The final gospel strain helps this message hook resolve itself.

Simple, to-the-point, gospel entertainment with top-notch performances!!!
